I have been using PureVPN on and off since 2023 and it has always been one of the easiest VPNs for streaming. I refreshed this review in May 2026 because PureVPN has changed enough since our April update to deserve another look: new server locations, a virtual-location clean-up, clearer transparency messaging, ISO 27001 wording on the Trust Center and current checkout pricing. Here is my honest take on whether it is still worth it in 2026.

PureVPN is still priced aggressively on long-term introductory plans. At the time of this May 2026 update, PureVPN's public pricing page showed the 2-year Standard plan from $2.15 per month, billed $57.95 on purchase, with Plus and Max plans costing more. The monthly Standard plan was listed at $12.95 per month. User Experience

The apps are clean and straightforward. No flashy maps or unnecessary gimmicks. Just a simple list of locations, a big connect button and quick-access smart servers for streaming or gaming. I connected on my Windows laptop, Android phone and iPad without much friction, and split tunnelling and the kill switch are still easy to find if you need them.
The 2026 app experience still feels built for regular users rather than technical tinkerers. That is good for beginners, but power users may wish the app was less sales-led around add-ons and a bit more transparent about physical versus virtual locations inside the interface.

WireGuard remains the protocol I would start with. On my 500 Mbps UK fibre line I regularly saw 420-460 Mbps in earlier 2026 testing, which is more than enough for 4K streaming or large downloads. The only time I noticed any slowdown was on a couple of very busy European servers during peak evening hours, but switching to a nearby alternative fixed it quickly.

Before you click buy, here is what you are accepting. PureVPN is fantastic for streaming and everyday protection, but the renewal and add-on wording means you should treat checkout as part of the review.
